Taxonomy Development

Using text analytics and text mining software, we have developed semi-automatic methods of taxonomy development that can be applied to everything from enterprise taxonomies to specific subject areas. We can take existing taxonomies whether from an external source or your own internally developed taxonomies and transform them into text analytics resources. To do this often requires a major restructuring of those taxonomies into smaller and more flexible structures more suitable to model how people think about their domains (and how they search for information).

Text Analytics Development

We can apply those same methods to quickly build entity catalogs that include both named entities and advanced rules for disambiguation. Good categorization capabilities can be difficult to develop. They must avoid rules that are too specific and brittle and rules that are too general and vague. We have a number of consultants with the experience to apply our methods to create superior capabilities.

We can also develop and enhance sentiment catalogs to enable sentiment analysis applications, as well as build text-based rules for accurately assessing positive and negative sentiment. Finally, we also can develop ontologies for a variety of business domains using our knowledge architecture methodology.

Research Platform: Integration of Text Analytics and Text-Data Mining

As a separate project or as part of another service, the KAPS Group can develop a research or intelligence platform that begins with an in-depth analysis of your own organization and then we use that information to build a platform for the integration of text analytics with text mining and predictive analytics. Data mining is an extremely powerful tool for understanding everything from customer behavior to disease vectors to trend analysis but it has been missing that vast reservoir of information, unstructured content. We can help you add that missing element by developing the semantic structures such as taxonomies and ontologies, and the categorization and extraction capabilities needed to turn unstructured content into structured data.
