Strategic Consulting Knowledge Architecture Audit A knowledge architecture audit is a set of activities including interviews, ethnographic sessions, surveys, text analysis, and others types of research - that are designed to produce a deep understanding of an organization information and knowledge environment. The output of the audit is a deep characterization or knowledge map of the organization's content and content structure (metadata and taxonomies), the formal and informal communities and their associated information behaviors, the information activities associated with the organization's business processes, and a map of the various information technologies (search, content management and others) that are being utilized in the organization. This knowledge map is a foundation and starting point for an integrated approach to any and all information and knowledge initiatives. Information and Knowledge Management Strategy. A strategy or vision document is one possible output from a knowledge architecture audit.
